Cycle 9

Holiday Stations! Students participated in a variety of winter themed stations.





Cycle 8

This cycle, students in P1st-2nd grade started their Scooter License training. They were taught 6 different ways to move on the scooters safely. At the end of this unit, they will take a Scooter Test, and if they pass, they will receive a Scooter License with their picture on it.

3rd-5th grade students worked on their Overhand Throw skills and making sure they are getting their sides to the target and stepping with their opposite foot. They also then played a game that combined overhand throwing with building Hula Huts.

  Cycle 14 Students in P1st-2nd Grade continued their progression from individual jump rope to long rope with partners and a group. 3rd-5th graders learned how to putt in the sport of golf. They learned cues for putting and then built a miniature golf course with their group. This activity helped them build their putting and cooperation skills, while incorporating it with a STEM activity.      Cycle 12-13 Students in P1st-2nd Grades worked on individual jump rope skills during this cycle. 3rd-5th graders discussed the 5 Health-Related Fitness Components, which include Body Composition, Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Endurance, Muscular Strength, and Flexibility. They played a variety of activities that covered each area.

  Cycle 11 Students in P1st-2nd Grades worked on their Feet Skills this week. We focussed on Dribbling and Passing skills and incorporated them into a variety of activities. 3rd-5th Grades focused on hockey skills. They practiced their stick handling and passing skills as well. Cycle 10 Students in Pre-1st-2nd began working on their Overhand Throw. The cues we use are Ready, Jump on Board (side to target), L (bend back arm), Step, and Throw. They participated in one of our favorite games called "Clean Out Your Room". Students in 3rd-5th grade began working on their basketball Dribbling skills. They participated in a variety of activities that provided experiences for them to work on their dribbling and ball handling skills.

  Cycle 6 Happy Halloween!! This cycle students participated in activities that were related to Halloween. Some activities included: Zombie Tag, Pumpkin Punch, Would You Rather (Candy Edition), and Ghostbusters. Cycle 5 All of the students worked on gymnastics skills during this cycle. They were given age appropriate skills that focussed on their balance and control. Through each class, each skill became more and more challenging. Cycle 4 Students in P1st-2nd had the opportunity to use their personal space and locomotor skills in a variety of activities. One such game was Building Bridges. 3rd-5th graders worked on their ball rolling skills. One of the games they played was fitness bowling. Students work in teams to try to knock down all 10 pins. However, they start with 1 pin, and only get to add a pin when they knock down all of their pins.
